About the organization:

Zim-TTECH is seeking highly qualified and experienced applicants to fill the position of System Support Officer for the Impilo EHR/CBS program. Zim-TTECH’s activities occur primarily in the technical areas of health system strengthening; health workforce development; operations research and evaluation; prevention, care, and treatment of infectious diseases. Zim-TTECH is funded by PEPFAR through Center for Disease Control (CDC) to implement HIV & TB treatment and care services in five Zimbabwean provinces in support of the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) under the Zim-PAAC (Zimbabwe Partnership to Accelerate AIDS Control) Program. ZimPAAC DREAMS consortium comprising of three local partners implements DREAMS activities in four districts in Matabeleland North Province (Bubi, Nkayi, Tsholotsho and Lupane). Zim-TTECH is also funded by PEPFAR through CDC to implement Strengthening Epidemiology and Strategic Information in the Republic of Zimbabwe. The contract of employment for this position is renewable yearly subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance of the candidate.

Position Summary

The position reports to the Systems Infrastructure and Administration Lead. It is responsible for the maintenance of hardware and system software.

Responsibilities

Perform operating system software installation, patching, upgrading and maintenance. Create service tickets for user issues and escalates unresolved issues according to standard practice and procedures. Verify end-user credentials prior to providing or resetting access to applications and systems. Consult with customers to identify and specify clinical and technical requirements. Perform basic hardware and software troubleshooting, diagnostics, and remote repair if possible. Assign customer support calls to IT support analyst teams according to procedure. Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults. Train of users and direct liaison with other technical staff.

Qualification

Higher National Diploma in IT/ Computer Science/ IT or Equivalent degree. 1-2 years of Help Desk, Service Desk, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications. Professional certification (e.g., COMPTIA). Demonstrated experience in providing first point of contact with users and stakeholder by responding to enquiries, and escalate and redirect issues as required, to ensure the provision of accurate and timely information. Experience in updating and maintaining records and databases, complying with systems. Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery. Experience in system administration experience in a large-scale production environment.
