About the organization:
Zim-TTECH is seeking highly qualified and experienced applicants to fill the position of Technical Project Lead for the Impilo EHR/CBS program. Zim-TTECH’s activities occur primarily in the technical areas of health system strengthening; epidemiology and strategic information strengthening, health workforce development; operations research and evaluation; prevention, care, and treatment of infectious diseases. Zim-TTECH is funded by PEPFAR through the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to implement Strengthening Epidemiology and Strategic Information in the 44 districts of the Republic of Zimbabwe. Zim-TTECH also implements HIV & TB treatment and care services in five Zimbabwean provinces in support of the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) under the Zim-PAAC (Zimbabwe Partnership to Accelerate AIDS Control) Program. Additionally, the ZimPAAC DREAMS consortium comprising of three local partners implements DREAMS activities in four districts in Matabeleland North Province (Bubi, Nkayi, Tsholotsho and Lupane). The contract of employment for this position will support the epidemiology and strategic information scope of work and is renewable yearly subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance of the candidate.
The position reports to the National EHR Coordinator. The incumbent works with the program leadership and other stakeholders to establish the strategic direction of the program’s information systems to ensure goals are achieved.
Assist project sponsors in establishing project goals, metrics, and baselines. Facilitate collaboration and decision making between sponsors and departments. Develop detailed implementation plans including finalization of project team structure, task list, task inter-dependencies, timetable, and budget. Define, identify, secure, and coordinate internal and external resources and expertise, as appropriate, for the program/project implementation. Manage stakeholder expectations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Develop and manage project budgets and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses. Initiate and facilitate change management through established communication methods. Oversee development of integrated testing, validation, development of training materials, and the conduct of the training. Develop and assist with communications to the organization and stakeholders regarding the project initiatives, status, and progress.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent Degree. Bachelor’s degree in business administration and/or information systems with course work in computer science or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred. PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent, Agile or SCRUM certification a plus. At least 5-10 years progressive leadership and management experience including project experience in an IT environment or in business environment with major project management/system implementation role. Applicable system expertise a plus. Demonstrate knowledge of project management principles, practices, and software development life cycle. Prove experience in successful completion of major healthcare systems implementations. Prove ability to manage large diverse groups of individuals and work effectively with all staff as well as executive leadership. Experience in project and solution estimation and team structure definition. Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive an independent project from an architectural standpoint.
