Our activities occur primarily in the technical areas of health system strengthening; epidemiology and strategic information strengthening, health workforce development; operations research and evaluation; prevention, care, and treatment of infectious diseases.
Position Summary
The DREAMS Mentor provides mentorship in safe spaces in collaboration with Community-Based Mentors. The role is key in building protective assets, motivating AGYWs to realize their full potential by directing AGYWs on the right path towards achieving set goals and vision ensuring career growth and development of life skills that empower AGYWs. The DREAMS Mentor assist in building positive relationships within support networks and providing active linkages for clinical services in communities and facilities, improving reproductive health outcomes for AGYWs as part of comprehensive prevention programming and directly improving protective factors for AGYWs. The position reports to HIV Prevention and ASRH Officer.
Responsibilities
- Supporting DREAMS Ambassadors and Community Based Mentors in the identification of safe spaces for program implementation and delivering Health for Life sessions at the identified safe spaces.
- Profiling AGYWs and informing of the provision of person-centred secondary services.
- Providing mentorship activities including coaching for leadership, career growth, and ensuring positive health for AGYWs.
- Supporting the maintenance of DREAMS wards through mentorship for career growth, entrepreneurship, and linkages for ASRH clinical services.
- Providing support in the implementation of the ZimPAAC primary and secondary services in communities where DREAMS is being implemented in both Phase 2 and 3 districts.
- Working directly with DREAMS beneficiaries in capacity building and ensuring their career growth and that for DREAMS Ambassadors and Community Based Mentors.
- Linking Community-Based Mentors, DREAMS Ambassadors, and DREAMS beneficiaries with other development platforms e.g., fellowships, career growth pathways.
- Identifying skilled community caregivers to transfer skills to DREAMS beneficiaries in safe spaces.
- Documenting significant stories of change.
- Submitting timesheets, travel requests, and claims timely as per Zim-TTECH policies and guidance.
- Conducting any other assigned duties.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- First degree in Social/Behavioural sciences or related discipline.
- At least a year of relevant working experience working with priority populations including Adolescent Girls and Young Women.
- LIVES certification is an added advantage. Must be fluent in English and Shona.
- Experience working in PEPFAR programs is an added advantage.

Relief Economic Strengthening and Household Officer x 1

Background
We are seeking highly qualified and experienced applicants to be considered for the Relief (maternity cover) position of Economic Strengthening and Household Officer for the DREAMS program. We are a registered Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO 125/23). Our activities occur primarily in the technical areas of health system strengthening; epidemiology and strategic information strengthening, health workforce development; operations research and evaluation; and prevention, care, and treatment of infectious diseases.
Position Summary
The overall goal of the position is to plan and implement economic strengthening for caregivers, adolescent girls, and young women selling sex at the district level in collaboration with relevant line ministries. The position reports to the Economic Strengthening and Household Lead.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overall planning and implementation of the out-of-school AGYW and caregiver combined socio-economic program at the district level in collaboration with Siyakha Champions, CBT, and DREAMS Ambassadors.
- Identify and nurture strategic partnerships to support the program to meet its economic strengthening goals in liaison with government line ministries and Private Companies amongst others.
- Develop and maintain linkages with governments, organizations, and projects that support economic strengthening activities including financial support.
- Coordinate with private companies and value chain players in the provision of production contracts and extension services.
- Use appropriate project management tools to plan, review, and track implementing partners’ progress on project implementation and use of project resources.
- Provide high-quality facilitation of training and systematic post-training supportive supervision and mentoring to AGYW and caregivers.
- Foster a culture of accountability and learning through regular monitoring of project sites, providing oversight of studies and assessments, and proper documentation of tools and promising practices to contribute to learning and building the evidence around household graduation, transition, and economic strengthening.
- Document project results and impacts in various forms, including media stories, lessons learned, case studies, client satisfaction, etc.
- Provide technical support to Siyakha Champions/CBT and DREAMS Ambassadors in implementing the economic strengthening component as per program and donor benchmarks.
- Supports Community-Based Mentors to identify, mobilize, and recruit AGYW into clubs as well as identify those that are eligible for the Economic Strengthening activities.
- Supporting the implementation of the Economic Strengthening activities ensuring that sessions meet program quality standards.
- Directly supports program monitoring through tracking weekly targets and mobilizing project data, drafting project reports as required.
- Reviews Siyakha/CBT Champions timesheets, travel requests, performance reviews, and claims.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in household economic strengthening programming.
- Certified WHO L.I.V.E.S training or previous experience in PEPFAR-supported programs.
- Experience in working with vulnerable young people in economic strengthening initiatives, in areas such as small-scale crop and livestock production, value-chain development, business development, entrepreneurship, and financial services.
- Demonstrated experience in community mobilization, organization, management, and mediation among local actors and partner capacity building.
- Demonstrated experience in training design, delivery, and mentoring in subject matter relevant to this position.
- Commitment to and understanding of the DREAMS Program’s goals aims, values, and principles including rights-based approaches as they relate to building resilience to obtain better health outcomes.
- Ability to work independently, think innovatively and strategically and work effectively within a team.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with a range of software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Position Summary
The Economic Strengthening and Household Lead (ESHL) will support and manage the technical implementation of economic strengthening interventions. The ESHL will support the DREAMS National Program Lead in translating the DREAMS program economic strengthening plans into activities, outputs, outcomes that ensure adolescent girls and their families are thriving and resilient. The Technical position will create evidence-based, effective solutions to poverty and family strengthening, by developing strategies and partnerships to advance skills development and employment opportunities for vulnerable adolescent girls and young women and their families.
Responsibilities
- Work with DREAMS Program management team to ensure that all staff and stakeholders understand the Siyakha Economic Strengthening model within the DREAMS Program.
- Provide technical support to the District Economic Strengthening Officers and sub-partners in the implementation of the economic strengthening component as per program and donor benchmarks.
- Develop strategic recommendations and technical guidance for the delivery of quality the enhanced economic strengthening interventions.
- Conduct labour market and value chain assessments to inform livelihood pathways for project beneficiaries.
- Facilitate training of project staff on the Siyakha model and support respective cascade trainings, ensuring quality control and adherence to model tenets.
- Create evidence-based, effective solutions to poverty and family strengthening, by developing strategies and partnerships to advance skills development and employment opportunities for vulnerable adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) and their families.
- Coordinate the implementation of the ES Siyakha model activities in all the districts.
- Ensure tracking of relevant process and outcome indicators for the enhanced economic strengthening package.
- Conduct regular site visits to observe project progress, validate data, and obtain feedback from participants and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the technical team and senior leadership to adapt project work plans and approaches based on performance and contextual factors, contributing to progress reports.
- Provide technical assistance and oversee implementation of innovative Internal Savings and Lending Schemes for targeted most vulnerable and under-resourced entrepreneurs to create and grow small businesses.
- Effectively develop and maintain relationships with DREAMS governmental and non-governmental partners to ensure a seamless delivery of economic strengthening activities, cultivating and monitoring relationships with outside service providers, consultants, agencies, and organizations to develop relationships to enhance the delivery of services to AGYW and families and promote sustainability.
- Identifying program gaps, planning, and executing corrective strategies, and monitoring progress, ensuring timely submission of reports.
- Capacitate staff and community cadres on the strategic information management information systems (SAVIX for Her$, CommCare for Siyakha) for monitoring and tracking economic strengthening activities for AGYW and caregivers.
- ZimPAAC partner representation in Economic Strengthening platforms (PEPFAR interagency, GoZ line ministries)
- Document project results and impacts in various forms, including media stories, lessons learned, case studies, client satisfaction, etc.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Experience in design, implementation, reporting and evaluation of evidenced based Siyakha model targeting vulnerable groups.
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of best practice interventions and approaches designed to improve household economic status and expand livelihoods options and opportunities.
- Excellent knowledge of household finance education / capacity-building approaches
- Significant experience in programing that benefits vulnerable and marginalized populations (e.g., adolescent girls and young women)
- Experience in implementing DREAMS.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and people management skills capable of communicating efficiently, problem-solving, and sound decision-making capacity, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a demanding environment.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet and fluency in both English and main local languages.
